My paintings are an assertion of color, to create a certain mood, and to give an aesthetic experience. I paint non-objective abstract art that is an observation of texture and simplicity. I use recycled tissue paper and other packaging material to create an intriguing existence on canvas. I also use large amounts of heavy gesso, glass bead gesso and iridescent to bring to life the unpredictable. I keep my color pallet limited as I believe that when we limit ourselves, staying inside the box if you will, it presents even more creative challenges than if you were outside of the box. This, along with added texture, can create a peaceful calm.
As an added bonus all artwork has painted edges. This gives the painting a modern "blended" edge on your wall and not a hard stop that a frame can give. The beauty is in the details. If you would like a commissioned piece please contact me and I would be happy to make a custom painting just for you!
